julia
I have added images to the box headings.. Thought from that I'd be able to figure out how to add images to the box but I can't! For instance. Instead of it saying "baby", "holiday" etc as the categories, I would like to use images for the actual categories and sub categories inside the categories box. Thanks! http://www.noteworthyinkonline.com/shop/catalog/index.php

julia
Thank You..Will do.Julie <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well... this will be my first contribution usage. So.. Now I downlod the file and replace the categories.php file with this file Many questions 1. Do I upload the images to the main image file (easy one) 2. How and where do I name the images so that they can be associated with the category name. ie. How does the OS commerce site know how to put which picture with the category name. I guess, my question is what is the next step. Does my question make sense? Sometimes when you don't know what you are doing its hard to ask the correct question. Here's something else. I have already modified my categories.php file, so I guess I wll have to go in and make those modifactions again. So.. I guess that means that if you want to add contributions you should figure out what you want to do, and then add them first before you start changing other things. Otherwise you better remember what exactly you changed previously
ozEworks
The contribution notes indicate that you use the standard images for the categories and subcategories that you are entering when you enter them in Admin. The readme file indicated that you DO NOT replace the category.php file but that you update it as described. Do you know how to do that? Make a copy of the file before you do it! I didn't notice beforehand where it said that. I replaced one with one of my own, the only problem is that it is really tiny. One part of the code said '30','30', which I thought meant the image size. I changed the numbers to '150', '30' which is the size of my image, but it is squished even more than the standard images which are also squished Any suggestions ? My goal is to have the left menu look seamless with images in the category box for categories and subcategories. How can I get the image to the correct size? http://www.noteworthyinkonline.com/shop/catalog/index.php Thanks!
241
The link that you have posted does not work. There are limiting factors such as the box width which by default is 125 therefore your image plus text or image alone needs to be within this dimension, remembering to take into account that the 125 is the overall width and consists of : 125 - border, cellpadding, cellspacing and any spaces used to margin the box using the nbsp try an image width of max 120 baring in mind your height you would want to expand the image keeping the dimensional ratio intact so as to not distort the image. The alternative is to use the same categories name however in the categories.php append something like _small to the name then upload the smaller images. julia
I wonder why my link doesn't work. It works from my screen. I did change my column width to 240 and uploaded the Box Heading Images without a problem. I'm wondering if the size of the images is stored in another place? I"m also wondering if I'm going about this the wrong way. I'll keep plugging along Once again, I'll try the link without putting the reffer in. I'm in guided mode so perhaps that is screwing it up. www.noteworthyinkonline.com/shop/catalog/index.php http://www.noteworthyinkonline.com/shop/catalog/index.php
ozEworks
I can see it. You seem to only have one image loaded at present. Did you put the 30,30 back? Did you have a look at the image you replaced with your own to see its dimensions? I would try to make my images just like those. What I needed to do was turn of the image resizing in the admin panel. It works now beautifully! Julie
