Text size changes not .css

First post. Please help!

 

I have trawled through the archives but can not find what I want.

 

I do not want to use pictures for my sub-categories but the default text size that appears on the centre frame (usually under the pictures) is too small. I have changed this in the Stylesheet.css but this also alters other text (specifically item descriptions in category new products box) which i wish to leave alone.

 

I assume I could alter the text individually in the .php file for that frame (is it index.php) but can not follow the code well enough to identify which bit relates to these.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.
