The e-commerce.

Message to all using the Standard Paypal module

Recommended Posts

I have put this in general support but I think this information should be in here too.

Up until a couple of days ago our store was working fine and then all of a sudden customers started getting security alert popups like these when being directed to PAYPAL...

Luckily our customers have been very patient and have now processed their new orders without the security popups.

The reason for this was Paypal was being directed to the wrong server, it seems things have been changed recently.

In /includes/modules/payment/paypal.php around line 32 you will see this line...

$this->form_action_url = 'https://secure.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr';

This should now read...

$this->form_action_url = 'https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr';

I believe this will affect a lot of websites using this option.

I know people are changing to Paypal IPN, but I know some may not want to do any major changes to their site.

I have also downloaded a new copy of the Oscommerce installation software and this too goes to the old Paypal URL.

I hope that this isn't a repost

Lets say my store had merchandise on "consignment", and that the owners of the merchandise all had paypal accounts. Is there some software which allows me to automatically route the payments received from the buyers to the correct accounts at paypal? If one purchased item "x" I'd want his payment going into that paypal account rather than having to do extra accounting work. Currently, it looks like only one paypal account handles the entire stores' income.

I'm obviously a beginner so please tell me how to find the answer and software needed. My apologies if this has already been answered elsewheres.

It is 02:45, I am nearly finished setting up my first ever site. As you can imagine - lots of stumbling blocks. This forum is a life saver for me.

While looking for a solution to a problem I stumbled across your post. Sure enough, an hour later the xxxth problem popped up. But this time, I knew the answer!

Well posted. :thumbsup:

Can anyone help me figiure out how to access FTP so I can figure out how to update the code for PayPal? None of my customers can use PayPal until I get this fixed. PayPal say's it's a 2 minute fix and my web guy say's it's more like a 3 hour fix, at $65/hr.

Thank you!
