knifeman
Hi everyone, I am installing os on my subdomain and going through the admin configuration. I have not yet installed ssl because this may take a couple months to get fully operational. (not sure if this is the problem) I have most of my admin settings and just wanted to see if I could create an account. When I click on "create account" which is linked to here: https://myknifestore.com/create_account.php...f9bbd596b9689dd I get a page cannot be displayed error from my browser. I went to another os site and their create account link is quite different than mine. Does anybody have an idea what I did not do right?
♥Vger
Well, first of all that address you give is not for a subdomain. Secondly you say you don't have ssl but it's an https link. If you want people to help you're going to have to send them the correct link to go to. Vger
knifeman
I apologize for the mistake. I merely copied what was in my browser and did not look at the first part. I was paying more attention to the end of the URL. My subdomain is wholesale.myknifestore.com and I do not have SSL installed. The catalog is in the root directory of the subdomain. I have no idea why the create account link is pointing to https//mydomain and not http//subdomain. I have so far not altered any text on the web pages. I set up a couple categories and deleted the ones that came with the installation.
♥Vger
The problem is in your configure.php files in includes and admin/includes. They must be edited to refelect the file pathways of your subdomain. I'm guessing that you copied over the files you installed on your main domain, and this is why the links point to it. Also make sure that enable_ssl is set to false in both those files. Vger

Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will check on those files. I don't know if I copied over anything. I installed os using the fantastico icon in Cpanel and installed in the root directory of my subdomain. knifeman
Once again Vger is right. Just to let others know, I told the installation program I had SSL because I knew I would eventually (mistake #1) and the default line for that installation was my domain and not the subdomain. (mistake #2) Thank for pointing me to the right files. Tim
