Error Logging

I'm getting the generic "There was an error processing your credit card ():" message trying to get this contrib working on a new install. (I'm new to osCommerce, but reasonably proficient at this kind of thing, so keep that in mind...)

I'm assuming the following things:

-cURL is set up correctly, because when I mess with it I get the "Not Communicating" error instead of this one, which seems to imply that it is getting that far at least.

-the configuration at the Authorize.net end is set up right. Not SURE about that, but it seems to be...

I've done:

-unload/reload of the module

-check cURL settings (any way to test SSL functionality?)

-re-set the transaction key thing (5x times)

What I'm looking for is any suggestions how to get more useful information out of the error other than "There was an error". I'm ready to call Authorize.net, but would like something to tell them other than "It's not working".

For that matter, anyone know Authorize.net's willingness/ability to support a third-party written mod? I know they support osCommerce itself, but... Will I call them and get a suggestion just to go with the built-in module (which only supports Simple Integration rather than Advanced Integration, right)?

Thanks.

Blast... This is referring to Authorize.net Consolidated v1.7c.

I thought I was posting to a sub-board, not just a thread...
