Featured Products

Hi Guys,

 

Firstly, I'm very new to oscommerce and also to these forums. I'm having a bit of trouble with a site I'm trying to get up and running properly. The site is actually up, looks good, and all looks well. However, unlike our other site we do not have an option for featured product. Something which I thinks help our site onto page one of google for most searches. Is this something that is easy to do?

I've not had a chance to look at it yet Emmet, so no. If you know an easy way to get it sorted then feel free to either mail me and tell me how, or reply to me here. I want to get more actively involved with the sites and be able to sort the niggles myself at some stage.

Right, I'm just having a crack at this now. I'll be perfectly honest, I've never used .php or .sql. I do have a good grasp of theory and logic though so hopefully I'll be ok :-"

 

I've downloaded 'featured products v1.5.4.1' and I figure that the .php files just go in exactly the same place as it seems they do i.e. I just put them on the server in the same files they are in on the download?

 

If that's right, then what do I do with the .sql file that's in there to actually get it working?

 

Sorry for sounding like a numpty but I will get it fairly quickly once I actually do some playing around!

Just ensure you backup files before editing them.

I just want to use both Featured Products Info Box and New Products Info Box. I have found a contrib. But it is replacement of New Product Info Box. Is there any way that could i use these both boxes.
