Guest Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Hello, I am creating a music download site for a client that sells shippable cds, downloadable albums and downloadable tracks. Obviously the shipping and the download of the albums is easy. What i am trying to achicve is so that each induvidual track can be purchased. I know that i could create a product for each track and control it with master products, but im not going to do it that way because it would be a nightmare to administrate (50,000 tracks +). Before i dig-in and start writing a solution. Does anybody have any ideas about how this could be done using existing contributions / code / oscommerce features, or if this has been achived in the past ? Thank you for any help Regards Nimmit

Guest Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 why do you want to encrypt the files? also, if you are going to use an individual download then that means you have to list the mp3 indvidually. dont know any way around that

Why would you be worried about the server holding that many songs? eMusic and Audiolunchbox both have 100's of thousands of Mp3's. It shouldn't be a problem with dedicated servers, right? You are right, it is tedious work to set up the singles to be purchases and downloaded, may i ask how you resolved this issue??
