Guest Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Can't login to admin mode after moving the database from old server to new server. I have try to use the function of foget password, but it said First & password doesn't match. I would like to reset the admin password, can anyone give a hand on this case, thank you very much.
LadyofShalot Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 i have exactly the same problem <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi! I contacted my hosting Help Desk (Ipowerweb) about this and they said that for some reason with Windows SP2 for XP, there is a password problem so they had me download NETSCAPE to use as a browser. It is a pain in the bum, but it works. Give it a try. Cheers!

The problem is that osC does not include a password protected admin so there are different methods you could have used to protect it and without knowing how you did it is hard to help solve your problem. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Guest Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 would it work if i set up a new oscommerce with a username/pass and then copied my files and database to that new location? would this maintain my username/pass?

If you have moved your site to its new location and if you have cpanel or another hosting control panel with the option of password protecting folders then go in and password protect your admin folder that way. If that is not an option then you will either need to setup the .htaccess manually or use one of the contributions for protecting the admin. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.
