can we link products when using easypopulate.. I need to populate several proucts and almost half of them are under multiple categories.

i want to avoid doing uploading singles and then linking them individually using admin.

if there is any way I can specify the links using easy populate it will be great !!

I will really appriciate your responses..

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I've been searching on and off for days for a direct answer that would relieve me of much possibly unnecessary, possibly hopeless experimentation.

In my initial experiments using Easypopulate 2.7x, I achieved very peculiar results - linking from one product apparently being inherited in the next uploaded product. When I exported my test catalog, the products that were linked showed only one category/subcategory set.

I'll keep looking in case I just haven't stumbled on the answer.

OK - it looks like all you have to is to upload the same product on multiple lines:

SO LET'S SAY IT'S PRODUCT WITH 0001 AND I WANT IT IN CATEGORIES 1, 2, and 3, SUBCATEGORIES 1A, 2B, and 3C

My EP File has 3 lines including the following columns

v_products_model v_categories_name_1 v_categories_name_2

TEST 1 1A

TEST 2 2 2B

TEST 3 3 3C

The product will come as "linked" in my catalog, and will appear in all 3 categories.

So it can all be done in one file, but I will need multiple lines. A little cumbersome, but doable.

Anyone know any better way?

Will post in other forum covering same subject, then continue posting wherever I receve replies, if any.

Did you have any luck with this. At the moment I am having to use 4 rows for each of my products .... thanks.
