Laura Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Do you guys use a defaul setting for images on your osCommerce sites? I'm setting up a site at the moment but the image sizing is driving me crazy. No matter what size i set, the pic's all look skewed. What size is your: Small Image Width Small Image Height Heading Image Width Heading Image Height Subcategory Image Width Subcategory Image Height I know this might sound like a dumb question but i don't know the answer so i'd thought i'd ask. Which image is for which part of the site? Is the small image for when you're viewing products in a list?
ozEworks Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 You can change them. There is also a "trick" you can use in that you only set one of the height or the width parameters and that for better resizing of your image - stops the skewing. Mine are set as 125, 0; 75, 0; 125, 0. Actually I cannot remember off the top of my head which if for what but play with the settings you'll soon see.

I've been playing with the settings for the past 3 days & can't get the right size. I'll try your sizing though. Thanks a million for the toip regarding only setting either the width or height!

If not setting just the height or width should not make your images vanish. Make sure you put a number in one field and leave the other field completely blank as in empty. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

I have tried putting a figure in just the width field & leaving the height field blank & vice versa. And i set the "calculate image size" to true as suggested earlier. Hope i'm not being a nuisance, this is just driving me crazy.
Laura Posted January 26, 2005 Author Posted January 26, 2005 I'm just bumping this today in case anybody might be able to help me with my problem. It's driving me crazy! Thank :)
Laura Posted January 26, 2005 Author Posted January 26, 2005 I think i finally got my image problem sorted. I've 1 quick question though! the images that appear in the "What's New" section on the left hand side of the page, what are they called? Are they the small image, heading image or subcategory image? Thanks
Laura Posted January 31, 2005 Author Posted January 31, 2005 I think i finally got my image problem sorted.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, i don't have my problem sorted.. When setting up the shop & you're collecting images for it. Do they all have to be the same sized and cropped in an image editing package before being used on osCommerce? This problem is killing me. I've tried setting the width to a certain number & leaving the height blank but the images just look huge & are skewed. Any help would be really appreciated

Tried leaving the height blank, tried modifying pages and nothing. Anyone have a clue as to how I can have a custom thumb nail 100x100 click to a larger view of 400x500?

Don't use the same values 100, 100 try 100, 99
