hallrar Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Just a thought: I notice some questions in the forum are never answered. Is it possible to have a box or something somewhere in the forum that lists all questions not answred for the last 7 days (or a month depending on the amount there really is). hallrar

That would be a great addition here (and hopefully would cut down on the number of bumps). Great idea! I second the motion.

I've got two questions in two threads that have not been answered yet. Sorry if I seem impatient.
Guest Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 sounds like a good idea to me, 'specially since those are the posts that I like to go looking for. -jared
Guest Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 one thing to note, if questions go unanswered, usually one of two things. either the question is too vague, and in the forum rules it does state that if a question does not get answered, to reword the question with a bit more detail or the question has been asked a million times over and the person even puts in there they are too lazy to search

I think a nice way to handle the laziness of someone not searching first would be to just give a reply that gently suggests that they do a search in the forums, knowledgebase, whatever with a suggested phrase. Might be nice to do the search yourself before suggesting it to see if it leads somewhere. After a few of those, the person will get the idea. As a person with quesions, with dead air, you never know what you did wrong -- ask the question wrong, phrase it wrong, no one knows the answer, there is no answer, or the question could have been answered yourself. Thanks, David Watson
