Guest Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Hi all, I am trying to keep my shiping as simple as possible, I am using a zones table. I want to add a feature to the cart or seperate infobox that displays the shipping cost for UK,Zone 1,Zone 2 eg to look like this : Shipping UK = ?1.95 Europe = ?4.95 International = ?7.95 The shipping costs will change relative to the cart weight, as per the zone table/weight matrix Why am i doing this you might ask ? Well its a fact that 75% of customers dont even get to the checkout box unless they know the shipping cost. Therefore I want to display the cost of shipping for products even for customers browsing the site. I believe that becasue customers dont have the time, they are more likely to buy if they see the shipping cost up front. I would just offer flat rate tiered shipping, but its not really suitable due to the range of products i sell. eg some things are really heavy and cost lots to ship, but the product resell value is too low to make a profit.
