Hello

i started using oscommerce less than 2 weeks ago and apart from having to upload the product pics and remove default pics....... and maybe add images/background to 'header navigation' bar, i think i am almost there.

the original logo is different from the only displayed but i removed temporarily it because it has a white background

i know the homepage image isn't in the middle (can someone help me with that please)

i have taken out all of the right columns except in the review page because that gives me an excuse to leave the tell a friend link.

the top right rollover 'star' images were put in only for me to test if rollovers work in the header.php. Finally, the default my account/cart/checkout gifs are still there because i don't have any good ones to replace them with and need advice whether i should leave the images in and take the text out (or vice versa).

feel free to give an opinion please. Thanks.

My Webpage

Upon receiving fixes and advice, too many people don't bother to post updates informing the forum of how it went. Until of course they need help again on other issues and they come running back!

Why receive the information you require in good faith for free, only to then have the attitude to ignore the people who gave it to you?

There's no harm in saying, 'Thanks, it worked'. On the contrary, it creates a better atmosphere.

You haven't even started on your site yet! Categories dont have pictures, no products? Shouldn't have categories without products in them. Remove stock OScommerce buttons in the header.

Get shipping, privacy, and terms up. Get ssl cert. Just get started... before posting in here. And read some of the other threads in here, they should give you a good general idea.

It's hard to tell if the layout is good for your site since we don't know what the theme is or what products you'll sell, etc.

It may be a little too colorful. I don't really like the colored scroll bars that much. And the headers on the info boxes are kind of interesting but they are not centered over the boxes.

The header is over-powering. Too much color and all the lines in it are not really useful.

You should check out some of the other sites in this forum to see what others are doing. Then maybe "copy" a few of their ideas as needed. It's good to have your own design and a unique design but you also want to have something attractive to customers.

Good luck!

thank you very much... i have taken it on board, constructive critisism is definately most welcomed. i should have it up and running with real products in around 4-5 days, hopefully.

i will definately re-evaluate the coloured double border in the centre.

i will try to centre the info box headings image, thanks for that too.
