HI There

After a problem i have had to reupload my site,

what should the "permissions" be set to on each directory

Are they ALL set to "777" or "775" ?

If someone could help it would stop me pulling my hair out,

Also, after re-installing is there anything else I have to set in the admin panel?

It did moan there wasn'ta "backup" directory, so I created one on the server, but aside from that am I done?

MANY THANKS!

Folders should be set to 755, and files to 644, except for the two configure.php files. I use 400 for includes/configure.php and 644 for admin/includes/configure.php

HI There

MANY THANKS for your help

I got everything back uploaded again but getting this error message:

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/sites/web-lynx.co.uk/public_html/shopping/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I have this file set to 777, is this right?

I am using Bulletproof FTP to set the permissions.

I folllowed the instructions here:

http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23397&hl=

and set the permissions on the directories as explained on this topic

but still no luck !

Is this a temporary internet files thing or somthing?

MASSIVE THANKS FOR CARING >_<
