davidandrews Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 HI There After a problem i have had to reupload my site, what should the "permissions" be set to on each directory Are they ALL set to "777" or "775" ? If someone could help it would stop me pulling my hair out, Also, after re-installing is there anything else I have to set in the admin panel? It did moan there wasn'ta "backup" directory, so I created one on the server, but aside from that am I done? MANY THANKS!

♥Vger Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Folders should be set to 755, and files to 644, except for the two configure.php files. I use 400 for includes/configure.php and 644 for admin/includes/configure.php Vger
davidandrews Posted January 22, 2005 Author Posted January 22, 2005 HI There MANY THANKS for your help I got everything back uploaded again but getting this error message: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /home/sites/web-lynx.co.uk/public_html/shopping/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. I have this file set to 777, is this right? I am using Bulletproof FTP to set the permissions. I folllowed the instructions here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23397&hl= and set the permissions on the directories as explained on this topic but still no luck ! Is this a temporary internet files thing or somthing? MASSIVE THANKS FOR CARING >_<
