Paypal Question

Iam selling a few products and I'm only using Paypal. There have been no mods just the standard osc paypal..

 

When a customer makes a purchase they end up at the Paypal page...then what happens?

 

They Pay..and what then? Do I get a notification?

 

I'm sure this is a stupid question but I have never sold / purchased using Paypal before :blush:

You and the customer should get an email from PayPal and from your osC store.

 

However, as I understand it, if the customer fails to click the "Return to Merchant" button at PayPal, you do not know what they paid for because the PayPal email does not include any details, just amount paid. The original PayPal module doe not save the order details until the customer returns to you site.

 

There is an add-on PayPal IPN module, which I installed. Now the PayPal emails inlude what the customer is paying for. In addition this add-on stores the info when the customer clicks the button to go to PayPal. That way, as long as they pay, you have the details saved, even if they fail to return to your site from PayPal.
