blueedge Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I recently read an article stating that it is better to have the customer stay on the product page after adding an item to the cart than to send the customer to the shopping cart page. The theory is if the customer is sent to the cart page, the customer is more likely to checkout than to continue shopping. Currently, my site sends the customer to the shopping_cart.php page after each item is added. How do I change it so that the customer remains on the product page? (I have the shopping cart "preview" set to appear in the right column so that the customer can see that the item has been added to teh cart.)
jamesepain Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 this is a simple answer, go to the admin area then to my store, look though the page and you will see "go to shoping cart after an item is added" click on that then on the right click edit and click on no then save changes You Can Win, But I Can't Lose. blueedge Posted January 21, 2005 Author Posted January 21, 2005 James, thanks for the response. I have been looking for that option in the admin area. Unfortunately, however, I still can't find it. Do you know more precisely where that option is? Thanks
jamesepain Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 ok, go to the admin area then click on my store, look down the list on the right side and you will see "Display the shopping cart after adding a product" click on that row and the page will refresh, a block on the right side will change with an edit button in it, click on the button and the page will refresh again and you will see selectable points, press fulse and then save changes. mugitty Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Admin->Configuration->My Store->Display Cart After Adding Product set to "false" ... if you want to REALLY see something that doesn't set up right out of the box without some tweaking, try being a Foster Parent!
