Sincraft
I'm not sure how to do this. I had this bookmarked previous, but I would like to move my store to the root directory. Any help with this would be appreciated as , it seems for search engines to have even a permanent redirect setup via the host, it detects this and penalizes a site. S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> All you need to do is copy and move your files up one level to the root. Then you need to edit your two configure.php files removing /catalog from the path defines. Once you have it working correctly delete your catalog folder or keep it as a testing area. If you do keep it as a testing area you need to create an new database so they are not using the same one. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right?? S <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I mean after you move the site to root. If the se's have your links with catalog in them in their database, they will hit 404 every time after you move to root. Sincraft
OH! Great idea amanda! Thanks! I forgot about that! I'm getting a bit nervous atm. I tried doing this strategically, but said eh screw it and downloaded the entire site to my hd...then deleted everything with a under construction pic up now...now I am uploading ot my public_html directory which only has a few pictures in it,...and it's asking to overwrite things like session.php 0 bytes with this one 17,000 bytes ...and a couople other files, I've been clicking yes...I dont understand as there were no files left after I deleted it. Not sure what it is doing, I am using FileZilla. S
