djmatrix Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Ok this is the deal.. After a couple of months analyzing and watching customers on my site i have noticed that people only seem to use the quick find which searches product name. For some reason they do not click on Advanced Search. To rectify this i decided to make the quick find, search in description, brilliant. The only problem with that was i was getting too many results. eg : Search for Zed 100 (before mod) = 1 match Search for Zed 100 (description mod) = 16 matches and Zed 100 would be at the bottom. So what am i wanting. Simple : - I would like the search box to only search on Product Name as it does by default but also have the search in description checkbox in the search box so my customers have the option. Can anyone please help with this... I have searched for the answer and can't find it and feel that this would make a good contribution also... Cheers in advance...
Guest Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 You could probably get this contribution to do it if you have a checkbox instead of the database setting (option to search in description). Matti

Guest Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 You can adapt the ones used in admin (categories.php) - you would need to copy a few functions over from admin to the catalog side (from /includes/functions/general.php and html_output.php) Matti
