Error! Unable to determine the page link

I am new to PHP and OScommerce, so please forgive me for asking what seems to be a simple question that I should be able to figure out myself. However, I have searched the posts and tried without success. Here is the problem:

I have just set up my cart and can't seem to figure out why my item & category pages get this error message.

"Error!"

"Unable to determine the page link"

In my footer.php file there are two links that are part of OScommerce and they work. I had a banner that I installed through the admin tool and deleted that to see if that was the problem, but wasn't. I found a few similar posts, but could not figure out what to do with the responses which say to fix the footer.php file.

One interesting thing that I don't think is an issue, but I'll mention it, is that I used Cpanel to install the cart and I had let it use it's default directory to install the cart. Therefore, I don't have my cart installed in a "catalog" folder as everyone else seems to and the way I see the documentation suggests. Could that be an issue? It defaults to public_html

My store is temporarily set up at ShopAssistant Online Store' Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Thanks,

Scott

The above link is invalid so I can't look at the problem. Having the shop in the root is the preferred way. Many people have it in catalog because that is the way it comes and they don't know to move it. So you are ahead of the curve on that one. :)

Have you made any changes to product_info.php?

In admin-configuration turn off "Use Search-Engine Safe URLs (still in development)"

Sorry about the link not working. It seems that for the past couple of days my host is having troubles. That hasn't helped me much either, but they are generally always up.

Thanks,

Scott

:) I have not made any changes to that file, but thank you. My problem has been fixed by turning off the "search engine safe URL's" in admin config.

Thanks, that solve that problem and made everything sooo much better. For the first time I can see features that never showed up before.
