Gary <{POST_SNAPBACK}> catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php as stated in the homepage of the default installation. Read number 2, but do not use the File Manager.
Jack_mcs Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Most, if not all, of the text for your shop is in includes/languages. Some is in the english.php file and some in the english/index.php file. Guest Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Im not sure what you mean about file manager but i'll take a look. Thanks guys <{POST_SNAPBACK}> File Manager is a built-in file editing/managing utility. It is very well known for corrupting files. So use an FTP program to edit your files instead.
freni32 Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Ah ok, thanks for that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what program do you recommend for editing the text through "FTP.?" I want to edit my front page text as well, so I need to download the file you stated above from my server, and then delete that file from my server, and then re-upload the new one with the same file extension using a ftp program? (frontpage work?)
snakerboy Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 If you go into your admin panel, and hit the last option marked Tools, and then hit File Manager, youll have a whole lot of fun. FileZilla is a great FTP program, and it's free!

I personally am not sure about using MS FrontPage, I haven't been using it for years. Years ago, it was corrupting/rearranging my HTML codes without asking for permission.

And for some, no. For example, you can edit the files easily using CuteFTP without having to save it in your harddrive. Just right-click edit and save! A great time saver.
