missblonde20 Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Hi everyone I have successfully installed oscommerce onto my local machine (im using fedora core 2) and our website is hosted by a company. I need to somehow take a copy of the website and need to transfer all the files onto my machine as we wish to make developments on the version on a local machine so that the website on the server (hosted by a company) is not affected. Is there anyway to take a copy of the website and put it onto my machine???
241 Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 yes you can install easyphp which gives you all that you require and then use an ftp program such as ws_ftp to download your site from the server include a copy of the database. Setup your database using the phpmyadmin that comes with easyphp and configure your two configure.php files for your local server. No longer giving free advice. Install the database and files in place of the one you have (locally) and away you go. Take A Kid Fishing... For more info see my kids fishing site..
