Lost Database

I previously downloaded my website to my hard drive with Macromedia Dreamweaver. My online site was deleted due to server issues. I went to upload my site using Macromedia. I made the necessary change to configure.php. The site is there now, but none of the database products or categories are there! I thought I had downloaded the database by downloading the site... Macromedia asked if I wanted to download all files, which I said "yes" to. Where is my database? Did I never really download it to begin with? Where is it found? Or do I need to do something special to upload it? Basically, where is the database found...all products in it and all admin specs (i.e. sales tax info, etc.)??

Where is the database (products I've entered) located in oscommerce? And is there any special procedure for downloading it?

Have you been using the Admin's database backup feature? If you have, then your database is in catalog/admin/backups etc. (or whatever that's been set in the configure.php)

If you haven't been using that then I'm afraid it's bad news. When you download all files from Dreamweaver or any other FTP programs, you can only download all the files in the folder allocated to you by your host. The database it self is in a database server (which could be in the same machine or nearby).

You might want to contact your host immediately if you don't have a backup.
