candlealley Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Oops, posted this in the wrong forum, so I am moving it here. --- I used fantastico to insall OsCommerce. I go to the admin page but any link I click on takes to me to the page not found. Where there should be a '/' in the web address there is a <INSTALLDIRSLASH> This is what shows up as the links: http://blessedcrescent.com/<INSTALLDIRS...>/admin/..... I don't know how to fix this or how to install manually. Any help would be most appreciated. Also, this is where my shop is. Nothing looks right. http://blessedcrescent.com/shop/
absky Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 :'( Hi I know this page what do you have to do is with the configure.php in admin files you will have to change the attribut file and enabled the read everywhere and to permission proprietary to read/write do the test i have the same thing ans now is OK Ciao :D
candlealley Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 I have no idea what you are talking about :( This was an automatic install I don't know what to change since there aren't options like that when I installed it.
ozcsys Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 It looks like your were supposed to choose what folder you wanted to install osC to and replace <INSTALLDIRSLASH> with the name of the folder during install. Since you do not seem to know anything about the files the easiest thing to do would probably be to delete your install and try again this time filling out all the fields like you are supposed to. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
candlealley Posted January 19, 2005 Author Posted January 19, 2005 The only thing it asks for during install is a top level directory name. I put in 'shop'... I've installed and uninstalled 4 times now it's the same every time.

Your best bet is to download and install it yourself . Yes this is more difficult but you will learn more about osC doing it that way so when you come for help you will have some idea of what the answers mean. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.
