Hi

I get the following message on the front page of my website:

Warning: Installation directory exists at: /home/xxxxxx/public_html/install. Please remove this directory for security reasons.

I tried deleting the install folder but that didn't work so I restored it. I changed the permissions to 644 and then 444 and that also didn't work.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks

That messages should go away if you delete or rename the install folder.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Hi ,

I had the same prob this morning when i had just installed oscommerce and I found that I had to restart Apache server and then restart oscommerce after deleting install.php. it then worked and that warning message disapeared.
