patrickbailey1 Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 On your product listing pages (Catalog-->Categories/Products-->Product A) when you enter the price of each item you click the little scroll down arrow for "tax class" and change it over to "Taxable Goods" right? If you didn't do this for the product, it wouldn't recognize it as a taxable good.... Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com
gscreations Posted January 18, 2005 Author Posted January 18, 2005 yes i do that, all the products are set that way
patrickbailey1 Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Your page loads really really slow. I'm on a cable modem and it took at least 15-20 seconds. Just wanted to let you know... I'm still trying to figure this tax thing out... Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com
gscreations Posted January 18, 2005 Author Posted January 18, 2005 hmmm checked the settings i have on another store i have and it works seems that the code must be causing the problem, which is just great! as im working on a store that was developed by someone else and they were so incompetent, the code is a right mess!!!

patrickbailey1 Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 I looked at some of your old posts and found the one "My site is going live"... On this tax issue, I think its something little and stupid, as most osC issues are. Your settings seem perfect... You're positive that products are marked taxable, and when you test you enter in a CA zip code.. those are the only two things I can think of... Sorry, i hope you figure it out... you could try reloading files associated with taxes and checkout. Patrick Bailey www.DisplayHaven.com

All products are setup as taxable, ive setup database to default to that setting when ever a product is added. And yes CA address. As i said someone else set up the site, im trying to fix problems for my client, and there are alot! I think the original person tested out installing Cre 6 loaded version on my client. The code is a right mess, loads of bits in it that dont need to be there, also very confusing template system on it makes it very hard to find the right bit of code. But hey all these things are set to test us. Im currently taking known working code from another site and putting it onto this site to see if that fixes it.
gscreations Posted January 18, 2005 Author Posted January 18, 2005 Patrick Solved it!:-) Apparently its because I need a weight on all the products! Dont ever use CRE loaded version of OSC its full of bugs, wish the original coder hadnt used it!!
msdesmarais Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 It is unfortunate that with each release of Cre Loaded you find new bugs that were not there before, especially when the bug is in an area that was bug free in a previous release.
