How/Where to add meta in OSCommerce

May I know how /where to add good META in the oscommerce code.

 

Hope some expert can enlighten me.

You might want to try searching in Contributions. There are some good tools, might be just what you looking for.

Don't be sorry for posting. It's an open forum and your questions carry as much weight as anyone else's.

 

To add meta tags, you need to edit most of the files in the catalog directory. A better approach is to install the Header Tags Controller contribution.

Thanks for proposing the Header Tags Controller. I have installed. May I ask what is the description is talking about, and how can I indicate the keyword. example if I am selling shampoo, is it that I have to put shampoo or I should put it as "shampoo" and If I sell more then 1 item in this page, then what should I do, example shampoo and conditioner, should I put shampoo;conditioner what how should i indicate, can someone help me.

I think there are two contributions for meta-tags you need: one for the category and one for products. Not sure from memory - have a look in the contributions area.

Very confusing.

 

I like to know, I have installed header tag controller. Does it mean that not the end, I still have to install SEO.... . Can some expert in SEO explain how SEO work just a brief one and am I still have to install anymore such ase SEO assist or something something etc.

SEO is an on-going process. Adding Header Tags will help but there are other contributions that need to be added too. And then you need to learn how to properly set up your page to take full advantage of it all. It is not something that can be answered in a brief sentence. The reference to SEOChat was a link to a forum in which you could learn about SEO. There are valuable methods mentioned here in the forums but you have to search for them and they are not complete. To properly perform SEO on your site takes a lot of work.
