coolcl Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 Hi everyone, This is the third time in a year that this happen to me, it seems like the session is not recorded. Yesterday the transaction stalled at the checkout_shipping.php page, this was the last page that we saw where the customer was with the content of his cart. After 10 min of inactivity (from the who's online page) I have received the confirmation of payment from PayPal, nothing else, no order confirmation, nothing store in the data base, nothing. It acts like nothing ever happen. Only this new customer name in the customer list. I would appreciate any lead or help for this issue, is it a known problem? I thank you in advance. CCL

ozcsys Posted January 18, 2005 Posted January 18, 2005 No. I have installed a number of contribution but not this one. CL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you are going to accept paypal payments you really should use one of the ipn contributions The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

CL

CL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think it is related to the method of payments you are accepting. I had the same issues before I installed the IPN contribution. Once this was installed it resolved the problem of orders going POOF on the site.

CL <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, it is caused by the customers not clicking on continue after making their payment on the paypal site. This means they do not come back to the checkout success page and without this the order is not recorded by osC. The ipn module will record the order before sending them to the paypal site so you do not have this problem anymore. It is also more secure as it keeps the customer from changing the price before they check out. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? It makes a lot of sense; I will install the contribution wright away. Thanks a million! CL
Guest Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I have a similar problem by the looks of it. I think what must be happening is that the customers do not return to the store....and so an Order Confirmation e-mail is not sent out. Obviously, I may need a response quite urgently!
Guest Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Right well I think I know WHY this is happening but I'd like a solution to the problem. Basically, I think that the customer must not be returning to the website after PayPal has done its stuff - they must click the red cross. This is because I get a Pending status yet in the status thing on the order, it does not have a "Pending" with a tick...or whatever.... Any ideas?
