multiple stores without contrib

I am playing with Oscommece before I try and run multiple stores with Zencart but need some expert php advice.

 

Heres an exmple of what I want to do

 

http://www.mydomain.com/catalog/ runs oscommerce 2.2 ms2

https://myssl.com/catalog/ runs oscommerce 2.2 ms2

 

Both shops function fine and each has it's own mysql database.

Both sites are on the same server

I can't however pass the shopping cart from one to the other and need a way of doing this.

 

This should then allow me too have multiple shops selling a selection of products of what the main myssl.com database will have and only one admin area to check to retrieve all of the orders.

 

I thought I could edit shopping_cart.php so that it writes all of the cart details into the myssl.com database

 

Does anyone know how I could accompish this ?
