Many thanks to all of you that have taken the time to review my site and thoes who have added contrubutions over the last few years.

I think I have reached a milestone in moulding what was a stock OsC inatall.

The site doesnt have online transactions, The idea is that the customer views the site and can ask to have the item put on reserve, the customer then has an agread amount of time to send there payment.

The site was made for my father, who has had an intressed in railwayana for several years and wanted to sell some of his collection.

Please give your thoughts and ideas about the site, as all of my fathers customers send nothing but complements, but I cannot improve the site without honest negitive feedback.

If you have any advise that you can give to fix any such problems, I will be very greatfull.

Anyway, thankyou for your time and effort

Maybe I just don't see a point to your website. I assume you only have one of each product? Perhaps I dont know your practices/business well enough to judge, but for a site like that I'd probably stay away from OScommerce. I'd probably use ebay as my main storefront if you're trying to sell products.

Expecialy with a big old Ebay logo in the top right, I'm almost garunteed to go to ebay first and check if I can find the same things on ebay. It just seems easier to purchase on ebay than sending an email and requesting the item to be 'reserved' for me.

If the idea is trying to sell his products, why not just accept online purchases?

Thanks for your comments Kevin.

The products that we sell are allmost "One of a Kind" ie GWR repeater from Harlesdon Norfolk (A Railway line Which isnt there any more).

The people that buy from our site are just getting used to the net and are wery of putting credit cards online.

eBay has a thing to it, you can bid, but it doesnt seen like real money your bidding and the prices tend to be a rip off. If the items dont sell in the LineManHut then we auction it on eBay.

We chose the method of reserving as sometimes people are looking for certain items and they may not nessaserly have the money at the moment, but want the item.

With this system if the buyer doesnt compleate the transaction the product then becomes avaliable again and generally there are people that have asked to be kept informed about the sale falling through. This also gives a "Persional Touch" with every step of the way and they can also ask about damage, if the item has any.

I think what I have done is to offer something that appears not to be comursilised and something that is a very frendly get together.

I am wondering thou, is the system confusing to you about how to make a purchase??

Is the site easy to use if you are not familiar with the system???

Many thanks for you time and comments

Kind Regards
