now i did a test install on one of my other hosting companies server and all went well.

i cant find a php.ini file anywhere using my ftp client so what should I do apart from cry (its taken me hours setting up the actual hosting and mysql, ftp etc etc blah blah)

any ideas suggestions? urgently appreciated with thanks.

means the new server has register globals off and you will now need to:

a) install the register_globals contribution

B) move to a different server

Are my instructions THAT bad ? You're the second person today to say it's confusing.

It's a doddle - just follow it step by step and it will work. Honest !

I understand how you feel, Rich. Someone just sent PM me asking how to comment-out lines in PHP. LOL

I hope you didn't reply !

It really makes me wonder sometimes. Nothing against 'newbies' as they seem to like to call themselves; we all have to start somewhere. But honestly - even when it's handed to some people on a plate with instructions on how to use a knife and fork, they still can't be bothered to put any effort in. It takes the piss sometimes.

Correction - it takes the piss quite a lot of the time.

Rich.
