killakhan4 Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I've been researching the problem for over 3 weeks now. I even tried to install a few IPNs but was unsuccessfull. There are so many version of IPN for paypal out there. Which one is the best...? which one is easy to install and use? How can i get rid of this problm.... I get the payment but i dont reiceve the orders. It a headache calling up the people and asking for what they ordered... I ned an easy solution.. if not tell me wat i can do? If everyone has this problem, why dont they fix it?????
Guest Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Unfortunately, this is common. The Contrib created by the OSC team is supposed to be a good fix. It grabs the order info before it goes to Paypal. The problem is that your customers are not clicking to go back to your store, so Paypal isn't sending the data back. The customer's cart still holds the order info. Several things may help you (they helped me): --Install a Contrib called something like Master Password. It will allow you to log into their account and finish the order (use the check/moneyorder option). After doing this you may want to contact them and tell them what you did for them. --Use Autoreturn in your Paypal settings. This will redirect them to your site, thus sending the info along, too. They will have 10 seconds to click away still, but I found it was enough to get them to realize they were supposed to do it. I haven't had a lost Paypal order since switching this on. --I chose not to install the Contrib from the team because my site is all hacked up already and I've entered my busy season. However, I'm told it works just fine.

Another option is to get a merchant's account and dump PayPal.
ozcsys Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 you can'tdepending on the version of oscommerce you use the paypal modules does not work correctly. if the user after paying on paypal does not click on "return to store" while on the paypal site. The order is not confirmed in oscommerce and stays in the shopping cart...... you have to confirm it manually in your store if you have the proper module ..... contact us for details <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This problem really has nothing to do with the version of osC that is being used. It is the paypal module that is the problem.Either of the ipn modules will fix the problem and capture the order before the customer leaves the store. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Cite With PayPal, you either get payment and then the order (without the contribution installed) or an order then payment (with the contribution installed). If you get an order without payment (with the contribution installed), the customer went to the PayPal site and did not complete the purchase. That's my understanding anyway.

Im ok with that though .... 2. In the paypal payments, I am not gettin their address so i cant see if it is confirmed or unconfirmed...... In the Notification of payment i wanna display the address and item number is that possible... if so i would mind have the item number name adress and all info possible.... please help me with problem number 2....
Guest Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 Sorry, I don't know for sure. That sounds like abandoned carts to me but I don't have the IPN Contrib installed. The way I understand it, the contrib captures the info before it goes to Paypal, so they must be stopping somewhere right before or after jumping to Paypal. That means no purchase, I guess. Sorry I can't help more.
