Guest Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 I am building a Paypal type Ecommerce site. What security features should I add to my site? WHat security issues in general should I be aware of before officially uploading my site to the server?
Guest Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 a paypal type site? are you using oscommerce? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would that be this site?
RikR Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 If it is, they need to work on navigation. Once I start looking at products, there is no link back to the home, I get stuck. Rik Rasmussen

Guest Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 That site uses CGI, where osCommerce is PHP-base. The good news is that PayPal do take care of just about all of your transaction security needs. Be very wary of large orders from non-verfied buyers.
Guest Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 Hi. Perhaps I should have been more specific. Yes, I am using OSC. What security features should I know about for use with my site? thanks for your help, -Alex
Guest Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 That site uses CGI, where osCommerce is PHP-base. You are confusing the relationship here. CGI is not a programming language; it is a mechanism used by the web server to execute code. PHP can run in 'CGI mode' if you so wish. Rich.
