Install error

your server is in safe mode, thus you need to ask your host to set safe mode to false

A friend of mine have installet it successfully? Is there a way to bypass it? Because I don't think that my host will allow safe-mode to be turned off

If I proceed with the install ig get this error:

in my admin and my catalog doesn't show up at all, just this:

I am also using a shared-hosting service where they claim they have clients running oscommerce in php safe-mode. I have yet to figure out how to work around this. Any suggestions?
