Guest Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 >_< I attempted to use the file editor in oscommerce to edit the index.php page in cart/includes/languages/english/ and recieved a parse error on line 14 when I attempted to view the result of my edit in another browser window. The only edit that I made was to the text 'Lets See What We Have Here' under the main table definition. I was also dumb and forgot to make a copy of the index.php file before I edited it. Is there a way to upload the original from the install? Anybody have one lying about?

It's the OSC editor. There should be a FAQ section in the Forums warning people away from using it. I uploaded a clean, notepad version of the index file into english and it came back up. Perhaps I'm hasty - is there a warning somewhere about the editor that's easy to find? TIA
Guest Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 1. Do not touch File Manager (I disabled mine) 2. Backup 3. Backup 4. You know what to do!
Guest Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Since osC is open source, you can easily insert a warning into your own admin area specifying not to use the file editor. <grin> -jared
