Google (Check my site)

PLEASE HELP...

 

First of all. The problem. My site is being indexed but only to the point of anything on the index page. Google doesn't seem to want to go into the products info pages for some reason, and i don't understand why.

 

Secondly, i have noticed that on pages that have no meta tag or description seem to look better on the google search ie. featured products, new products.

 

This is causing me some headaches as you can imagine as do i remove the meta info from the products page or do i just wait and see what happens. (I am really stuck on this so any information on better serch engine results would be gratefull.

I would be gratefull if people could evaluate my site and give me some pointers in the right direction.

I appears that you are targeting "dance" as your keyword. I didn't look it up but I would imagine this is a highly searched for work. If that is the case, they you should try to narrow your audience. Don't remove the keyword tag but do limit the number of workd listed. Your product pages are being listed so I'm not sure what you are saying about that.

I would also recommend adding a product map on the footer, this would allow google to index all your products.

 

I rejigged the printable catalog to not display the prices and renamed it a "Product Map" and that worked well

Yes, it is called keyword density. Your chosen keyword has to be considered the most important on the page by how much is is used versus the others.

 

Your products seem to be displaying fine to me. The title and header change as they should.

Just a quick one mate. Is the serch engine friendly URL switch that is still in developement important for search engines. Does it need to be ON.

 

I have read alot about this in other forums but can't seem to get a clear answer.

 

I thought that spiders of today where designed to cope with php language..

No, you don't need it. It's broke anyway and usually causes problems when used. The spiders can handle the php code although it may take them a little longer to get to all of your pages. If you follow proper SEO guidelines, your pages will be listed wihtout changing your url string.

No, that's not how it works. I can't think of any other suggestions beyond what I suggested. If you want to improive your ranking, you have to optimize the page and installing HTC is one of the better ways to do that.

I hope not because that would be wicked. I have put up a sitemap which i will put a link in the footer.

Do you mean the product listings page or the product_info page.

 

The product listings is set up in admin

 

Go to your ADMIN and then click on configuration. Under there you will see a link called product listing. Just set them up in order you want them displaying.

 

EG. Images set to 1

Product Name set to 2

I'm sorry for the confusion I caused. I got some threads mixed up. When I said that's not the way it works, I thought you had said that installing a meta tag contribution would cause 5000 links on one page. I obviously wasn't on the correct subject so please ignore that statement. Likewise, when I said HTC, I was meaning the Header Tags Controller contribution, which I thought I had mentioned previously but see now I did not. no worries mate. I have the HTC installed. Its the all prods that i have concerns about.
