Password Protect Categories/Section

I would like to set up a password protected area that only traders can access. So normal customers can view the products. I then send traders there own password either by email or via os where they can order in bulk!

 

Any ideas on this,

It's not exactly what you're looking for, but have you looked at this?

Thanks baddog, probably a bit to extreme for what i need. Is it possible to just password protect a category .htaccess or somthing?
