SamyT Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 I click on install and it puts 0 there like it's in the line up of modules - it still has the install button there. If I click on the blue arrow, I am able to edit the module HOWEVER the only button up top is INSTALL still. It no longer says edit or remove - does anyone know what would cause / how to fix this?
♥Vger Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 It's not a bug. The cause is either something you have done to the files or something your hosting company has done without telling you. Check with them, and also backtrack on what you have been doing. Vger

Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have not changed anything other than adding tax zones and as for my host, I'd have to know what this error relates to before I could even enquire - I couldn't just blankly ask them what they may have done that would mess up oscommerce (which I doubt they know anything about).
SamyT Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 I just removed the tax zones and there's still no way to edit or remove modules so it's not that!
♥Vger Posted January 14, 2005 Posted January 14, 2005 Ask them if they have changed the default permissions on your folders, and also ask them if they have upgraded PHP. Vger
SamyT Posted January 14, 2005 Author Posted January 14, 2005 Ask them if they have changed the default permissions on your folders, and also ask them if they have upgraded PHP. Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A quick addition, I removed them all and uploaded them again. Flat rate post is working with edit / remove buttons but table rate just has that darn install button there - even though it seems to be installed. UPS and USPS have weird names suddenly with lots of underscores.
SamyT Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 Ok does anyone out there know what could be causing this? This is going to effectively kill my website if I can't work with payment or shipping modules - someone who knows how this stuff works PLEASE HELP?!?!
SamyT Posted January 15, 2005 Author Posted January 15, 2005 So i'm basically dead in the water now and it's just "too bad" - along with these modules appearing to be installed but always having the 'install' button there - they don't show up when I try to do a test buy. I am dead - how can I have a store that doesn't take payments and has no shipping methods?!

Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They haven't upgraded PHP - it will be an OPTION for me within a week or so, but I am still on the old version they say. They also haven't changed permissions - can ANYONE please help me here?! I need to get our store running!
SamyT Posted January 16, 2005 Author Posted January 16, 2005 Does anyone know a better place to put this topic where someone will know what is causing this?
certified natural uk Posted January 16, 2005 Posted January 16, 2005 what are the exact files that need to have permissions checked?
Guest Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 I had a somewhat similar problem. I had installed Oscommerce and almost everything worked execpt the admin modules. I then realised that I had not set the path correctly. My DIR_FS_CATALOG setting in /catalog/admin/includes/configure.php only had a relative path setting. I checked with my hoster, and they gave me the full path. I also discovered my ftp was unreliable and had not copied the relevnat files into the /catalog/includes/languages/english/modules directory. Hey presto everything worked fine when I did this.
