what do i edit to remove/change the default text "Let's see what we have here" on the category page and "What's new here?" on the front page?

Hi Thomas,

 

You should find most of the textual entries in catalog/includes/langauges/english.php

 

Just open that file and search for the text you want to find. Be careful when searching for something like 'What's New Here' because if you type it exactly like that it won't find it! The reason being will be that the apostrophe in the word 'What's' will be escaped with a backslash before it like so : 'What\'s'.

 

Anyway most items like this will be found there.
