How do i test my orders

I'd like to set up a dummy account with a dummy credit card number.. and a paypal account so i can make sure my orders are coming through right.

 

Is there anyway to do this? I saw someone had set up a dummy credit card account somewhere else.

Thanks - but from what i see you have to sign up for a verisign merchant account.

Is that correct?

 

I was looking for a number i could use with OScommerce that would be free and work with all payment modules. Guess that's not available?

You can test with the fake credit card number provided in admin... After you click on your payment module (before install) it should say on the right:

 

Credit Card Test Info:

 

CC#: 4111111111111111

Expiry: Any

 

After you install your payment module, you would use the fake credit card number 4111111111111111 (a 4 with 15 1's) and any unexpired date for the expiration. That should process a test order.

 

I haven't found a way to test the paypal module, but I can tell you, if you are going to install paypal to your catalog, I would reccommend installing the IPN Contribution.

 

I have 3 stores using paypal, and they have no probs getting their orders -- they even get the confirmation from paypal-- but without the IPN Contrib. the orders wouldn't show up in the admin area. I'm sorry that most of the big-wigs here like to give shortened answers that refer you to SEARCH, when in fact the search engine usually produces results you are NOT looking for. Hope my detailed answer was helpful.

Hey Joey - really appreciate that. Oh, no worry, i'm glad to get some response as opposed to no response at all. This is exactly what i was looking for.

 

I guess some of the guys that have been using/modifying OScommerce for a long time forget that the documentation on it SUCKS! But, since it is free... what can we expect right?

 

Anyways, i actually got paypal to work with a download... I set the price as 1 dollar and just charged it to my paypal account... didn't find another way of doing it.

i didn't get the paypal confirmation though. I'll def try that IPN contribution out!
