dakatone Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 First off, let me express that anyone taking the plunge and creating, hosting and maintaining an e-commerce site deserves a level of congratulations! Now to the fun part :-" 1. Your site is making me scroll over to view it, even on a 1027 resolution. I would make it a 100% width and ensure all items are friendly to your tables and not causing them to be "stretched". 2. Your "title" is plain. Not good for search engines. The title is not for customers, since Google and other popular search engines actually use the Description META tag for their listings. However, the engines WILL use the title tag to sort in relevancy. I would place something like "Pattibears - Handpainted woodcrafts, personal gifts, decorations, scarfs". 3. Create META tags for Description and Keyowrds. Description should contain keywords that you want to be searched, but also presentable for customers as they will see it on the results. Keywords should be considered heavily. 4. I would definitely take a look through all the past posts here and follow the directions with them. Your store is still pretty stock in appearance. Even though it is 100% functional, the design can prevent the funtion from getting to the customer properly. Your images need work too, so look into a thumbnail contribution or simply use different sizes in the admin to refrain from distorting your thumbs. Good luck Ruhl
Guest Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 Bravo..... The width is a major factor from an appearance point of view. reign it in. Other than that on appearance i would loose some of the wording on the home page. I know that your trying to get a point across but the font makes it difficult to read. Great job thus far.... tweek it and make it perfect. david Ps your welcome bear is neat but I didnt even see him untill I took a second look. move him in to the logo area or just above welcome guest.
