New Installation / Database Import; step 2

Howdie,

 

When installing the cart, I get to the part of putting in my db server, username, etc. It says step 2 in the url bar.

 

When I click 'continue' the bottom half of the page goes blank; like it tried to post the data, but couldn't.

 

I'm installing it on FC2 w/ Apace 1.3.19. All my permissions are WIDE open just incase there was a write permission error.

 

What in the!@#$% am I doing wrong or overlook?

to clarify:

 

after putting in all the info requested, the installer doens't write to the config files, puts up a blank page below the header, and gives no type of error message...

 

PLEASE HELP!! :'( :blink:
