Guest Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Hi, I am currently putting together a new shop - The Cable Centre I have been searching the forum for help with a problem I have, but so far had no luck, hence this post. Problem: You will notice on the main 'catalog' page, that items appear in the 'New Products for January' section. However if you click on a category with items (like AUDIO for example), nothing is appearing. - "Displaying 1 to 12 (of 12 products)" is actually displayed indicating products do exist, but still nothing. Any pointers/help to why nothing appears in the category listing would be much appreciated. Thanks Kaine
Guest Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 move your mouse over a product, you will see it points to another domain altogether
Guest Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Its the same site; The Cable Centre = JK Audio Visual - Cable Centre Do you think this may be the cause of the prob? I can see why myself, but I could be missing something Kaine
Guest Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 Solved the problem, and thought I'd better post how (i.e. in case someone has a similar prob and does a search) Basically I wanted to install a new shop however including a few mods I already had on another shop, PLUS use all the same layout changes I had made manually. Key point: Mods included 'osC-ProductListingSelect for MS2' To avoid doing it manually which would have taken many hours due to all the individual page mods I had made, first I ran a clean install using Fantastico then thought I'd just copy the changed files. I proceeded to change files by ftp plus update the sql database in parallel. Basically I did all the mods, except I missed 1 sql update for the 'osCProductListingSelect for MS2' mod. This resulted in the products not actually being listed within each category. I inserted the sql statement for this mod, and voila alls fine. I have given myself 100 lines - "Do not try to cut corners - you'll not that clever" Kaine
