mark Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Hi, We currently have a site setup, with 2000 products and extensive descriptions. The site is running on a Dual 2.4 GHZ server, with 2 gigs of RAM and not many other users on it. The problem we are facing is an extremely long search time, 10-15 seconds. Is there any way to better optimize the search? We have cache turned on as well. Will persistant db connection make things faster? Has anyone run into this problem before? Any suggestions would be great.
Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 wow. That seems slow. My search is a lot faster, and I have 3 times that many products. Has it always been this slow? Is it any faster during non-peak times (i.e. 3-4am)? The standard caching doesn't do anything for the search, just the manufacturers box, category box, etc. -jared
