Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Hey everybody... when im trying to install OSCommerce and connect to my database i get this error: Access denied for user: '' (Using password: YES) i just created the database and password 30 minutes ago... im sure I'm using the right data as well. Could it be the database has to be in a specific location? Also tried logging into my server with the main admin password and username to see if it would automatically create a new database, but no luck. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 hehe. Never mind i just figured it out. I had to use "localhost" instead of my web address. They need to make that more clear! Thanks anyways guys.
FIMBLE Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Hi, you may need to add your cpanel login username and an underscore to your database and username but not your pass word like database name: lunarpage_store username: lunarpage_yourusername password: just your password - Nic Sometimes you're the dog and sometimes the lamp post My Contributions
Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 From what I remember, LP actually does it a bit differently. If your username is someuser, and you create a db name named test, with a database user of dbadminuser, you get: db name: someuser_test db username: someuser_dbadminuser It also may be that your username/db name get truncated by LP's control panel. -jared
Guest Posted January 11, 2005 Posted January 11, 2005 hi guys, thanks for all the help!!! Just to clear it up though, for some reason, when it asks for the server that contains the database, i had to put the words "localhost"... not my website address... that worked! Thanks again though.
