Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 Hi: I am about to download and start playing around with OS-Commerce on WinXP/Apache (local dev machine) but the project I wish to develop will be deployed on an RH Linux/Zeus machine. I just wanted to know what are the major differences between the windows and Linux versions - I'm guessing they are major to warrant separate downloads. Guest Posted January 10, 2005 Posted January 10, 2005 I performed a CRC (cyclic redundancy check) on the 2 uncompressed packages. They are both identical (all 1,000 + files). The only difference is the compression format. Tar format just happened to be more popular (and readily available) for Linux, the same with zip format for Windows. :thumbsup:
