What units is the Products Weight: field in the product addition part in?

I couldn't find this documented anywhere. Ounces? Grams?

whatever you want it to be as long as you use it consistently.

I'm here to try figure out the same thing. I've been fighting for 3 months to get the Postal Module working correctly and cannot launch the store. It's given me one problem after another. I've got the USPS account registered properly and that seems to now be working. The new problem is that no matter what weight each catalog item has, the shopping cart (upon checkout) gives incorrect weights and charges way too much for shipping. I've tried to enter .01 in the Products Weight, but in the end it adds 3 lbs. I'm not sure where it's getting the 3 lbs from.

Hey thanks OSC Knights, it works. The tare (The weight of a container or wrapper that is deducted from the gross weight to obtain net weight) was set at 3. It seems that this is kind of a silly option, since people usually sell products of various sizes and weights.

Now on to figuring out how to print invoices, package slips, and/or export it all as excel files. Any clues before I dig into the archives?
