cbcnz
Hi People, I have been opperating Custom Built Computers since 2002 and been using OScommerce for the past couple of years. I'm constantly looking for feedback and hope you could spark some ideas that might help me develop my site further. My current priority is converting the traffic I recieve into sales. I am also looking for a way to import CSV pricelists into OSC with a decent admin backend and feature rich (more than one supplyer per product, different markups for products, products linked to more than one folder, completing as much infomation about new products as posable) if someone has a system like this (or the skills to make one) I'm willing to pay (currently talking to a local company about building one from scratch). I look forward to your responces and thank you in advance
AXM
These are my suggestions: 1) Delete the stock OSC clipart 2) Increase the image size on the product info page 3) Delete the text "Custom Built Computes" from the top of the page. Maybe you should instead move it on top of the "All Prices Include GST" text 4) You have 2 Shuttles in the manufacturer box. I would have some more but bad timing. Your site is down for maintenance and the moment. I first got a 404 page cannot be found errors, but now getting a "down for maintenance page". Oh then I have another 5) Make the "Down For Maintenance" page contain more than just that one line of text. Perhaps an image displaying what your company offers. cbcnz
Thanks for your comments, I'll get my graphics designer to make some better images for me next week. I dont know why it says Custom Built Computers, I can't pick where its comming from it only happens on some browsers on some computers. Thanks I'll merge the shuttle brands. one of my staff was just installing the custom computer creator and needed to take the site down for 5min, bad timing :P I will create a simple down for maintenance page for when we have more downtime (hopefuly not often) Thanks for the feedback, any more would be great. we are currently investing a lot of time in developing the site further and the more people we get feedback from the better. happydance
Hi! This is Carol from Happy Dance I previewed your site as requested. Your website looks very familiar. I noticed a couple things. * Your testimonial box doesn't match the rest of your boxes * The left top corner graphic on the testimontial box is backwards. * Your graphic for Intel inside is bad. I scanned the one off a catalog I got today and will send it to you if you send me an email. * Pics of Tux are available at http://www.isc.tamu.edu/~lewing/linux/. I also sell a Tux squish ball, and have some great pics of it you are welcome to. * You need to get images up there for everything ~ those "no image available" signs are just not professional * Take down the services you don't have anything for yet. When you have them available, put them up. * You have no United States under country, and no place to put a State. If you don't plan to sell here, I guess that's ok... * On the my account information page, the Notifications button is very different from the rest. * You should specify shipping methods. * The OSCommerce Icons really don't go with your site. There is a contrib to take them all off in one simple step. That's about it. I didn't fully process an order, so I don't know if there are any issues there. Guest
Please fix the pentium logo. I can't think about buying when I see that "thing" on the page, lol.
Guest
Nothing against Pentium, I only hate the distorted logo. (At 3735 bytes, it shouln't be distorted) A real turn off. The rest of the page is fine, though the logo is plain and does not stand out. (@ 28575 bytes of precious downloading time). The prices?.... God bless America. :)

Guest
:D yeah looks okay and can only get better, just a small question what do you use to input all the pictures and data into your pages , are you using a contribution and do you do the pages in html coding , just trying to find a few things out , cheers
iainshaw
All the images look pixellated. That coupled with the stock osC look would make me click off. It could be an osC demo site. Just needs to be more individual and convincing.

We will continue to work on customizing our design away from osc stock, but we are currently working on the content of the site Thank you everyone keep the feedback comming in
♥14steve14
Hi Just having a look at your site and noticed one thing that you should really address. When i am configuring a computer, the drop down boxes are too short. I cannot see the descripion of the item fully. Still looks a bit stock oscommerce to me, but as long as you like it. cbcnz
Hi All, Been a while since I last had some feedback from the great people at the OSC forum please check out my site www.cbcnz.com and let me know what you think and where we can improve. One comment we get a little bit is it still looks a bit stock OSC if anyone could give some constructive ideas of where we could improve the site to look less OSC that would be great! Thanks in advance!
♥14steve14
Had another look at your store, and very little has changed. Black and white is a real turn off for most people, and your buttons in no way match your store design. Your header logo doesnt appear on every page, you have loads of mising images, or images that say 'sorry no image available'. Spend a bit of time visiting the manufacturers web sites and you will find all the images you need. In all honesty, would you buy from a web site like yours, i think not. It needs a lot more work, and a lot of time spent on it to give a high tech image inline with the items that you are selling. cbcnz
Hi Thanks for your feedback :) 1/ do you realy think black and white is that much of a turnoff, we get a lot off good feedback for having a "clean" website. do you have any ideas of what we could add to improve the colour scheme. 2/ I am going to have our graphic designer create some new buttons today, thanks :) 3/ Could you please tell me where the header does not display, it is in the header file so it should display on every page. 4/ Could you please direct me to any "broken" images you have seen. We run a crawler through the site every week to ensure there are no broken links/images 5/ We are currently working hard to ensure all products have correct images and descriptions. Thanks for your feedback, it will give our development team somthing to work with. Any more feedback would be great! ♥14steve14
2/ I am going to have our graphic designer create some new buttons today, thanks Why get a graphics designer to do the work. Why not do a search on google and find button maker and use one of their free buttons. So much quicker and cheaper. 3/ Could you please tell me where the header does not display, it is in the header file so it should display on every page. It only seems to display on your secure pages, on all other pages it is blank. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

♥peterpil19
I don't mind the black & white, your site certainly benefits from a clean design, but if you still receive negative comments, try a different colour for your headings like a dark blue. --Peter CE PHOENIX SUPPORTER Support the Project, go PRO and get access to certified add ons Full-time I am a C-suite executive of a large retail company in Australia.
