selling by weight

hi all, i hope someone can put me on the right track.

i've set up osCommerce for a client who sells products by weight. you can order from a minimum of 1Kg to the maximum allowed by the carrier.

my problem is, how do i let users select how much of the product they want? i.e. if a user wants to buy 3.7Kg of a product, and i've only set up the price per Kg or increments of 1/2Kg?

i know i can set up product attributes, and enter all the 'options' i want to be available to the user, but is there a way to specify just the starting price per Kg and then let osCommerce calculate the total price based on user input?
