Whenever I try to open or upload files from the catalog/images file, whatever software package I am using abruptly closes.

Is anyone aware of this problem and is there a work around?

Thanks

sounds more like a local system problem, doubtful the web server (unless local) would cause that

Thanks for the feedback. However, I have tried updating my software and various other maintenance functions. I can open any other file except this file (catalog/images). Attempting to open the file in any program (including uploading from the admin panel) causes the program (whatever program I am using) to close abruptly.

Is there a repair facility for the osCommerce program?

Any replies will be appreciated.

Thanks

What is the name of program are you using "that closes abrubtly"?

What file (or what type of file) are you uploading?

Does the problem occur with only one file or with many files?

If it's only some files, are there any similarities such as file type or size?

Am am using PhotoShop 6.01 and PaintShopPro 7, both older programs, but I don't have the problem with other files.

I can open and edit other image files in my website (for instance) with no problems, but whenever I try to open the image directory in the osCommerce directory, it always crashes (abruptly). I get the same result using both PhotoShop and PaintShop and trying to upload files from the osCommerce admin panel. That's three different programs and the all crash when I touch the image directory of osCommerce.

Hope that's enough info. I just can't get into that directory any longer. The problem started in the last 24 hours. Before that, I could edit images without any problem.

The PhotoShop installation is fairly recent but I can open and edit other image files without any issues.

Thanks for your interest.
