Hi,

how would I go about transfering my site from one server to another?

Both using cpanel.

Thanks

Andrew.

backup your database via the store admin/tools/backup.

ftp all your files down to your local system

upload to your new server

create the database on your new server

import the backup you created above via phpmyadmin

make the necessary changes to your configure.php files regarding the new server paths

make sure it all works with the 'alias' your host gives you.

chang dns to the new server from the old one

Hi Mibble.

I "tried this at home" and it does not work for me.

I tried to create a new shop at my new server, and that works fine, but when i restore my database the images has wrong proportions.

If i FTP my old site, and edit the configure.php, it's the same result.

I've tried to restore withe the admin tool of OsCOmmerce, as well as with phpMyAdmin.

Wonder if i should try to start all over with a blank shop, and use easypopulate instead....
